As onboarding institutions is one of the keys to the growth of the on-chain carbon market, conversations about following the footsteps of Institutional DeFi will eventually become essential.
Possible future scenarios we could anticipate are:
- Partner with enterprise custody providers (e.g. Fireblocks) to establish regulatory/security frameworks on trading tokenized carbon.
- List tokenized carbon on tokenized carbon to enterprise-ready “DeFi” markets such as AAVE Arc or Compound Treasury.
I would like to explore this topic further, therefore I request comments on the following questions:
- What is the current view of core contributors regarding the path toward enterprise adaptation?
- Am I misapprehending the state of the community by saying that there exists a lack of strategies to achieve enterprise readiness? Assuming we continue and succeed in doing what we do today, we could reach the institutional market; but I believe that we ought to explore pathways towards earlier enterprise adaptation which would accelerate the growth of the market.
Presumptively, it is too early to start considering enterprise onboarding, or the core contributors’ time and work are allocated to different more immediate issues.
I’m thinking of publishing a research report on Institutional ReFi, so any relevant information will also be appreciated.
Thanks!
