BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The College of Idaho campus has been taken out of lockdown. Caldwell Police had the campus placed on lockdown following a situation across from the campus. The communications director shared the following statement with us:
The College campus was briefly placed on lockdown today as the Caldwell Police Department responded to a situation across from campus. Around 12:15 p.m., Caldwell PD stated that the situation posed a potential risk to the campus community, so the campus was locked down. At around 12:45 p.m., Caldwell PD notified the College that the situation was secure and the lockdown could be lifted. Nobody from the College community was involved in the original off-campus incident.
The suspect involved in the situation has been arrested by Caldwell Police. Details are still forthcoming about what the situation was, and why the suspect was arrested. We will continue to update this story here as we learn more.

Caldwell Police report that the College of Idaho Campus has been placed on lockdown. Caldwell Police report that they have a suspect in custody related to the incident that has sparked the lockdown.
A spokesperson for the Caldwell Police tells CBS2 that the lockdown is due to a disturbance in the area and out of an abundance of caution. The suspect involved in the disturbance is in custody, however, details about the disturbance and whether or not the school lockdown has been lifted is not yet clear.
